Ultimate Bet Information: 4
The Kahnawake Gaming Commission has faced a fair amount of criticism over the
past year as two of the Commission’s largest gaming licensees have been involved
in online casino poker cheating scandals that have rocked the international
community. The community at large though not only faults the Commission’s
regulatory standards that allowed such a long-standing and huge three and a half
year scandal to take place, but also the manner in which the Commission has
handled the fall out from the cheating scandals.
The Absolute Poker cheating scandal broke first and gamblers at online casinos
all over the world were forced to critically look at their chosen gambling site.
Then when the Ultimate Bet scandal broke, and the Commission seemed content to
levy a fine and move on with the situation the internet gambling industry took a
stand and demanded more action.
And to give credit where credit may be due, the Commission had poor public
communication skills and may have taken a tougher stance against Ultimate Bet
than was portrayed in the mainstream media. Recent reports though released from
the Kahnawake Gaming Commission outline the exact repercussions Ultimate Bet is
facing some of the highlights that will certainly assuage concerns within the
online casino gambling industry include:
- $1.5 million in fines paid to the Commission
- Complete day to day oversight and monitoring by members of the Commission
- Removal of anyone involved in the cheating scandal or those the Commission
deems unsuitable
- Immediate repayment on all valid and legitimate player claims
Additional requirements are outlined in more detail in the pending results
report authored by Frank Catania.
