Mass Exodus of Online Casino Sites
The latest industry news reported that the Gutshot Poker site is not only
switching to the Cake Poker Network, but that other prominent online casino
poker gambling brands are planning to make the switch as well. There is an
undercurrent in the industry against Microgaming and although there have been no
specific comments regarding the reason that Gutshot and other online casinos
plan to switch networks, the undercurrent is vaguely negative. The only problem
is that no one is talking. Gutshot has operated on the Microgaming Poker Network
for over a year now and yet the site abruptly announced that the site is
migrating all account balances over to the Cake Network’s poker rooms.
Microgaming is one of the biggest names in the international online casino
software development industry. The company licenses its software to some of the
biggest names in the industry and even though there are veiled reports that
internet poker sites plan to leave the poker network, there have been no public
altercations or negative information released to the industry media concerning
Microgaming – it just leaves individuals and the other online casinos wondering
what foundation this rumor stands upon.
An online casino poker gambling industry insider remarked, under condition of
anonymity that Gutshot was just the first of several major European poker
gambling brands planning to move off of the Microgaming Network in the coming
weeks. Once again, besides the industry insider who released this information
there is only a very vague impression in the industry that something is about to
go awry, but nothing specific.
