Online Casinos Head East
The global economy has turned south and that means that some leisure industries
will see a slowing of new business. And for the online casino gambling industry,
not only will the industry slow in terms of new gamblers registering for the
sites, but gamblers some gamblers in certain demographics will begin to pinch
their pennies and lower their wagers. The slowing economy has been hugely
evident in the United States and the Western European market is showing signs of
the economy turning downward. The US market has already banned online casinos
from accessing US players, so the failing US economy should have little
additional effect on the viability of the internet gambling market. Europe,
though, is another story altogether and analysts and executives in the industry
indicate that while Western Europe’s economy will negatively impact some
gambling companies, the Eastern European internet gambling industry is predicted
to continue growing steadily.
The major indicator for success in the Eastern European markets is the fact that
online casinos and internet gambling as a whole remains a novelty at this point.
Eastern European countries have only just begun to offer widespread broadband
internet connections and the internet is still penetrating into Eastern European
countries. Couple that with the fact that the governments have passed
increasingly liberal online casino gambling policies and the Eastern European
residents will likely not be deterred from the market by the slowing global
economy.
Some of the Eastern European countries that are predicted to continue growing
rapidly over the next several years include: Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia,
and Poland. These Eastern European markets mostly already offer extensive and
successful land gambling and betting – an indicator that the popularity of land
gambling will translate over to the online gambling industry. |
