Discussion on Responsible Gambling
In just a couple short weeks the Asian Gambling Briefing will be underway and
representatives from all of the online casino gambling industry will travel to
Singapore to take part in the conference event. The event organizers, Beacon
Events, has announced that the conference already has a high-powered discussion
panel developed – and the newest person to make the panel is a member of eCOGRA.
Beacon Events has designed the Conference to include a large discussion on
responsible gaming practices and responsible gaming in the emerging Asian online
casino gambling industry in particular. The panel of experts is already pretty
lengthy but the addition of an eCOGRA advocate lends additional credibility to
the discussion panel.
The Conference starts on October 21, 2008 and Tex Rees, a Fair Gaming Advocate
at eCOGRA will be on the Responsible Gaming panel. The discussion is intended to
really look at Responsible Gambling programs and CSR and how they are already
working in some of the more established international online casino gambling
markets. Additionally, the panel, moderated by the Responsible Gaming &
Compliance Manager at the Galaxy Entertainment Group, Panos Makridis, will look
at how Asia in particular fits into the equation.
The panel features some of the biggest names from top online casinos all over
the world – the individuals at these companies that strive to make their
gambling groups compliant with international responsible gambling standards. As
for the standards, Rees is actually the individual at the PPA that spearheaded
the effort to assemble and publish the Responsible Gambling Requirements for
eCOGRA. This set of requirements provides online casinos with a baseline look at
the minimum standards they need to have in place to protect internet gamblers. |
