Online Casino Closing Too
Lasseters is in a bit of a pickle lately if the state of their gambling sites
are any indication. Just last month the online casino gambling industry was
taken by surprise with the announcement that Lasseter’s Australia facing Aus
Vegas site was closing down. Now, with little previous notice it seems that
Lasseters may no longer plan to operate online casinos. Lasseters has publically
acknowledged that the company is going through a tough time staying afloat as
the global economy begins to slow down and even the European internet gambling
industry is feeling the effects of the economy. But at the same time, few in the
industry predicted that Lasseters would fail this quickly and certainly not the
Lasseters Online Casino site.
Both of Lassters’ internet gambling brands are shutting down in the Australian
gambling market according to an email sent by a top executive at the company.
And even more shocking for the online casino gambling industry is perhaps the
speed of these closures. Executive Brian Gordon released the news to the media
and the necessary outlets and noted that the shutting down of the internet
gambling site was effective immediately.
Part of the problem for Lasseters was the loss of the US online casino gambling
market. With the closure of the US market many internet gambling companies were
left struggling to find a substantial market share in emerging markets. The
press release noted that the online gambling site stopped accepting players as
of 2:45 pm (ACST) this past year. |
