Abrupt End to Dispute
Boss Media has been all over the news this month with the company’s announcement
of entrance into the Italian online casino poker market. Boss Media is a leading
internet betting company in the European gambling industry and the company has
only just begun to penetrate the emerging Italian market. In other news though,
Boss Media is no longer in a legal dispute with Poker Trillion. The online
casino gambling, betting, and poker industry was taken by surprise at the
beginning of the year when Poker Trillion came out with a huge lawsuit against
Boss Media that would have resulted in Boss Media losing use of its servers and
Web sites to an extent. There was little logical cause given for the initial
dispute and similarly, Poker Trillion abruptly noted that the company had
dropped legal action against Boss.
Even the manner of the announcement of the dropped lawsuit came as a surprise to
many in the online casino gambling industry. Poker Trillion’s Web sites contains
a very brief announcement that the company has withdrawn all claims against the
Swedish gambling group Boss Media. The case came out into the online poker
gambling industry earlier this year and for a while there was little information
given as to the status of Trillion Limited’s (Poker Trillion’s parent company)
claims against Boss Media.
In time though online casinos and internet poker sites surmised that the dispute
between the companies came from rake issues. The courts appeared to have sided
with Poker Trillion in the beginning of the year, but perhaps other factors have
influenced the case in light of the now dropped charges.
