Social Responsibility for Online Casino
Profits are the bottom line in essentially any business in the world, otherwise
the companies would fail to make a profit and go under. But some of the highly
lucrative online casinos gambling companies in the world realize that high
profit margins and revenues are the perfect combination for allowing a company
to give back to others in the community. There are a handful of online casinos
and poker gambling companies that give back to charitable organizations without
coercion or threats – instead the company recognizes that social responsibility
goes so much further than mandatory regulations. The PKR.com online poker
gambling company voluntarily participated in a fundraising event in London just
last week which raised funds for a children’s organization, One to One
Children’s Fund.
The UK and European online casinos gambling regulations mandate that internet
gambling companies practice social responsibility – and many of the companies
begrudgingly give money… but that is not indicative of the entire industry.
PKR.com sponsored a poker tournament for the fundraising event which offered
interested players a GBP 365 buy-in to the event with all proceeds going to
support the Fund. The Omar Sharif Backgammon Tournament also offered a
tournament fundraiser, and together the two internet gaming and online casinos
gambling companies raised upwards of GBP 200,000.
The charity poker event brought out many celebs and some players from the land
and online casinos gambling industry to participate in the fundraising
tournament. The first place prize was a mere GBP 4,000 – not as much as some may
expect from a PKR tournament, but a healthy sum considering the participants
were there to raise funds for the charity. |
