Spain is Much More Welcoming

It looks like Spain could be one of the next major online casinos betting markets in the very near future. Currently only Madrid is really open to internet betting, but now two more regions are contemplating licensing and regulating internet betting companies to operate within that specific region. While not having very permissive regulations and legislation regarding online casinos gambling, it looks like the potential tax revenues and the growing global popularity of betting and gambling could turn the tide of opinion in the regional governments.

Unlike many nations, Spain has several autonomous regions within the country, and the national government has given each of the regions the right to decide whether or not to license and regulate online casinos gambling. This is markedly different from the majority of nations with the European Union, but a bit similar to how the U.S. plans to license and operated online casinos gambling if new proposed legislation neutralizes the nation’s highly controversial foreign operated internet gambling ban.

As for which Spanish citizens can expect online casinos betting in the near future, the government in Valencia is currently investigating the activity and the impact it would have on the region. At that point the government will rule on whether to begin licensing online casinos betting in the country.

In addition to Valencia, which is not definite, but many speculate is imminent, the Spanish Congress is considering online casinos betting legislation. There is little hope that the internet betting issue will take any sort of precedence considering that it is an election year, but there the Congress will eventually pass vote on the currently proposed internet betting and gambling legislation.
