Online Casinos Spending Will Increase
Research into the internet gambling industry indicates that the global gambling
industry will see significant increases in both spending on internet gambling
and the numbers of players involved in online casinos gambling activities.
Screen Digest released the latest statistics (from OSK Research) on predicted
growth for the UK internet gambling industry in particular. While the global
online casino gambling industry is expected to show significant increases over
the next five to ten years, the UK market will nearly double in and of itself by
2010 – that’s only two year’s away.
A lot of the surges in growth in the online casinos gambling industry in the UK
can be attributed to the new regulations that came into effect this past
September. The UK now has one of the most tightly regulated but yet permissive
internet gambling industries on the planet. The UK gambling commission has
strict regulations and requirements that the online casinos must adhere to, and
in return for compliance the companies have broad access to advertising mediums
and unprecedented abilities to expand in the coming years/
According to Screen Digest’s reported statistics the number of active gamblers,
that number will also nearly double from 2006 levels of online gambling. UK
gamblers in 2006 were approximately 1.1 million, statistical predictions put
that number at roughly 2.1 million by 2010. And as for the spending within the
European online casinos gambling industry, predictions allege it will more than
double by 2010. The industry was at GBP 600 million in 2006, and in 2010 the
statistics report that gamblers will spend more than GBP 1.6 billion on internet
gambling activities. |
