Online Casinos Ads Coming Soon

The United Kingdom certainly has some tough legislation and regulations now in place as a way to protect land and internet gamblers within the UK, but those tough restrictions can be exceedingly frustrating for other nations. Specifically, the small island nations of Antigua and Barbuda were previously a haven for online casinos executives and others, but after the U.S.’s online casino gambling ban, Antigua lost its prestige and now cannot even secure a spot on UK’s advertising related check-list. Over the past several month the Antiguan Minister of Finance has stood by the opinion that the country will receive online casinos advertising whitelist status in the near future.

There are only a handful of online casinos licensing jurisdictions that are approved for the list, and most of these lie in the European Economic Area. But the real reason why Antigua does not have whitelist status is because of the licensing and regulation requirements. The UK Gambling Commission has restricted the whitelist to jurisdictions that have very strict regulations in place similar to those in the UK.

The online casinos that are registered in Antigua though, are less optimistic as the UK continues to deliberate over whether to give the jurisdiction whitelist status. One internet gambling site registered in Antigua has even sought additional licensing in a separate jurisdiction that is already on the whitelist (Bodog Entertainment Group).

When asked about why Antigua’s online casinos are still not able to advertise, the Antiguan Minister of Finance, Dr.Errol Cort, asserted that he is still confident that the UK will add Antigua to the whitelist in the near future.
