Online Casino Group Moves into the Philippines
Land gambling opportunities are opening up all over the Asian-Pacific region
with the huge success of the Macau land gambling market an incentive for other
countries to similarly offer land casino gambling, poker, and betting. The
Philippine government is seriously expanding land gambling offerings in recent
months and rumors in the land and online casino gambling industry indicate that
Manila Bay could be home to a large resort gaming facility in the coming year.
As for immediate changes though, the Asianlogic gambling group (affiliated with
the Playtech, which develops gaming software for online casinos) has announced a
partnership with the Leisure and Resorts World Corporation (LRWC) to launch land
sportsbetting choices in the Philippines.
The two companies are launching a Filipino land sportsbook as a joint venture.
Both companies are really looking to expand in the Asia-Pacific region and the
partnership will give them both increased brand credibility and access to a
wider base of potential bettors. The Investor Relations Chief at LRWC, Alfredo
Reyes, commented on the announcement, “We are interested in this partnership and
it will open up markets for the company and opportunities in the gaming
industry.”
The Filipino government is increasingly liberalizing the land and online casino
gambling industry according to the latest announcements and media coverage.
Basically, internet gambling can be extremely lucrative for the state
government’s because they can take a very large portion of the land gambling
revenue and add it to the state coffers as a way to fund education, social
programs, problem gambling support services, and more. |
