They Can't Get Enough
Gamble Craft previously reported that a popular online casino poker gambler took
home the bracelet for Event 28 of the World Series of Poker, but the media just
can’t seem to get enough of the news. Phil Galfond is well known at the Full
Tilt poker tables and frequently gives gamblers some tough competition at the
tables. Full Tilt is one of the more prominent online casinos and poker rooms in
the industry, and Galfond’s “OMGClayAiken” handle is enough to cause many
gamblers a moment of pause.
Galfond is fairly new to the land poker scene and this is his first WSOP
bracelet win. Event 28 was highly anticipated (well they all are pretty popular
really) in the land and online casino poker gambling industry. Winning the final
table of the Event wasn’t a walk in the park either, but Galfond commented that
he also maintained his confidence – even when he was surrounded by land and
online casino poker gamblers who had previously collectively won dozens of WSOP
bracelets. The final table of the event involved well known poker professionals,
and going into the final table Galfond was certainly not the favored winner for
the Event. With the popular and young land and online casino poker ace Daniel
Negreanu at the final table, along with Phil Hellmuth and others, Galfond faced
some of the toughest players in the industry.
The WSOP event continues on over the next several weeks, and then the event will
take a break of more than 100 days, until returning in November for the final
table. In the interim 100 days the poker pros competing at the final table will
continue to hone their skills at the online casinos. |
