Changing the Dynamics
Microgaming will not have a presence in the international player advocacy group,
eCOGRA. eCOGRA is internationally recognized as a leader in the online casino
gambling industry – the organization is a non-profit group that monitors the
standards at more than a hundred internet gambling sites all over the world.
eCOGRA is best know for its “Safe and Fair” seal of accreditation – online
casinos carrying this seal are regularly monitored by the organization and
adhere to some of the strictest gambling regulation requirements in the
industry. The group’s focus is to make the online international gambling
industry safe for players.
eCOGRA has announced a new member of the organizations Board of Directors. Chris
Hobbs is currently the Head of Corporate Affairs at the Microgaming online
casino software development company, and he will join the board as one of the
three Founder Members on the seven person Board of Directors. Hobbs replaces
Roger Raatgever on the board, and will now aid the organization in maintaining a
stellar reputation in the online gambling industry for its work to protect
online gamblers. The other four board members are Independent Directors and the
current eCOGRA CEO, Andrew Beveridge reports to these four members.
As a Director on eCOGRA’s board, Hobbs will be responsible for lending his
expertise in the online casino gambling industry to the organization so that
eCOGRA can continue to provide player advocacy services to internet gamblers
while also regularly monitoring the internet gambling sites that currently carry
the eCOGRA seal of accreditation. Raatgever leaves the company on good terms,
and the Board released a statement recognizing all that he brought to the
organization in his tenure as a member of the Board. |
