U.S. Online Casino Gambling a Distinct Possibility
The United States has experienced the highest gas surges in the history of the
country these past few months, and the land gambling industry is certainly
feeling the effects of the gas-price increase at the gamblers cut-back on
travel-trips that involve driving. Las Vegas thrives under tourism and
destination travelers, but with the gas surges those gamblers could very well
turn to the online casinos to get their gambling fix. Past studies have
indicated that a large portion of gamblers would alter their gambling trips
according to the state of gas prices at the time. For online casino gambling
though – no gas required.
That is the crux of the latest concerns in the U.S. – more and more gamblers are
looking to the online casinos as a viable alternative for land gambling, but the
U.S. government is still supporting an offshore internet gambling ban in the
country. That means that online casino gamblers are turning out in mass to an
unregulated industry…that is a recipe for disaster. In an unregulated internet
gambling market, fly-by-night companies are able to lure in gamblers with false
promises. Then the gamblers have no recourse or way to even report the
fraudsters because the government has little control over offshore online
gambling companies operating in an unregulated environment.
All of these theories though about the increases in the online casino gambling
market hinge on the assumption that Las Vegas gamblers are deterred by the
nearly $5 a gallon gas prices. Although some individuals in high tax brackets
are largely unaffected by the fluctuation in gas prices, younger gamblers area
actually looking into alternative methods of travel. As the U.S. become more
fuel efficient and offers land and online gamblers cheaper ways to get to the
casinos, the land gambling venues could recoup some of their player base. |
