Celebs Compete for Charity Donation
There is certainly a softer side to celebrity and despite all of the gossip and
derision that stars like Britney Spears and others bring to the table, several
A-list celebrities turned out for this year’s Partouche Charity Poker event
taking place through the Cannes Film Festival. The annual poker event brings out
a slew of gamblers, from the celebs to the land and online casino poker pros,
everyone is looking to win some money for the charity of their choice. This
year’s event that took place just last week was as star-studded as ever and
unlike some past events, two charities were able to benefit from the $1 million
prize donation.
Of the celebs and online casino poker gambling professionals the following
individuals made it to the event: Annie Duke, Don Cheadle, Edward Norton, Goldie
Hawn, Woody Harrelson and Alice Taglioni. The prize up for grabs for the land
and online gamblers was a cool US $1 million donated to a charity of the
winner’s choice. The Partouche land and online casino gambling group hosted and
organized the event once again, and like previous years, the tie-in with the
Cannes Film Festival ensured that the event was a huge success.
As for the winner of the two-hour poker game, both Harrelson and Taglioni faced
off in the final round and agreed to split the main prize and each donate half
of the prize to the charity of their choice. Taglioni chose to support those
children affected by leukemia (Enfants et santé), while Harrelson’s focus was on
the preservation of the environment (Oasis Preserve International). |
