The second annual land poker event is underway in just two weeks as land and online casino poker professionals will join the celebrities to raise awareness for the crisis in Africa. Don Cheadle and land and online casino poker professional Annie Duke launched the inaugural “Ante Up for Africa” charity event just last year and managed to raise more than $700,000 for the cause. The huge fundraising event was a success thanks in part to the star power of both of the respected founders. Don Cheadle’s star power brought out some of the top Hollywood celebs while Annie Duke’s influence was undoubtedly responsible for the large number of land and online casino poker professionals donating their time and portions of their winnings.

Programs like the “Ante Up for Africa” event along with concerts like the upcoming “Rock4Change” event on September 4th at the Gibson Amphitheater really shine a light on the humanitarian crisis situation in the Darfur region of the Sudan. Even better than just raising the funds for these regions, large scale concerts and poker events raise the public awareness. With online casino poker pros attending both the “Ante Up for Africa” event as well as planned attendance at the “Rock4Change” concert, gamblers and individuals all over the world are given an opportunity to support the victims in Darfur with needed funds and donations.

Some of the celebrities already registered for this year’s “Ante Up for Africa” charity tournament include Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Adam Sandler, Jason Kidd, and many others. As for the international land and online casino poker pros supporting the charity poker tourney, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson, and naturally Annie Duke will also participate in the event. The event takes place on July 2nd, amid all of the WSOP activities at the Rio in Las Vegas.

As for the upcoming Rock4Change (Rock4Change.org) concert on the 4th of September, the event is still in development and will feature collaborative performances from some of the top names in the music industry. The event will is also seeking out the support of land and online casino poker professionals to truly add synergy and maximize public awareness about the Darfur crises.
