Ayre is Still Alive and Healthy
Calvin Ayre is arguably one of the most well-known online casino gambling
company CEOs and founders. Ayre is outspoken and bullish, and a bit of a playboy
according to most media reports, and has gained attention for his frequent blog
entries detailing the issues and his opinion on some of the problems his
multi-million dollar company has faced. Bodog Entertainment SA operates online
casinos, betting, and poker – most notably for the United States market. Bodog
does operate in the European gaming sector, but the real publicity for Bodog
comes as a result of the companies run-in with 1st Technologies in a patent
dispute that has made international headlines in the online gambling industry.
The latest news on the fiery Calvin Ayre comes from a new article published by
Fast Company magazine. Josh Dean wrote the article and actually flew to Macau to
interview Ayre. The interview was thorough and covered Bodog’s current actions
and future growth in the online casino gambling industry as well as Ayre’s
insights into some of the industry’s most pressing current issues.
As far as finding a base of online casino gamblers and others willing to do
business with the company, Dean observed in his article, “The Ayre I met in
Macau was feeling bullish. "I sell to people like me, who like what I like," he
told me. "If I like it, there's a whole bunch of other people out there who like
it too.””
Dean’s article also includes information on Bodog’s annual revenue and the
amount of business that the company is able to generate by operating in the U.S.
market. Most major online casino and betting companies left the U.S. market
after the UIGEA came into effect, Bodog on the other hand still operates in the
market and has a huge share of the market because there are so few credible
gambling sites accepting American players. |
