A Tear-Worthy Defeat
The success and prominence of the online casino gambling industry has certainly
worked as a favor for Andy Black, a well known professional poker gambling.
Black has been a prominent name on the land poker gambling industry for roughly
two decades, and despite a strong presence at the online casinos and poker
rooms, Black has been unable to secure a win at the major poker games – ever!
Thanks to PartyPoker.com though, and the online poker site’s innovative poker
league format, Black took home top honors at the Party Poker Premiere League
event last week.
Black is one of the top land and online casino poker gamblers to come out of
Ireland in the past twenty years – he dominates the land poker circuit and has
taken home more than a million in winnings from the World Series of Poker events
over the past two decades. His reputation is strong, the only problem for Black
though, is that while he is certainly a strong name in the land and online
casino poker gambling industries, he always seemed to bust right before winning
a major tourney – often coming in within the bubble, but never first place at a
major event.
Winning the Premiere League competition at the Party Poker online casino poker
gambling site was a turning point for Black. He ended the final poker round with
a heads-up against Roland De Wolfe, and upon winning burst into tears. Black
noted, “It has taken 20 years to finally finish the job, it is a fantastic
feeling. I’ve been in so many strong positions before and not ended up winning
that sometimes I doubted whether I could actually get the first place.” Black’s
win is hopefully an indication of a turn of luck for this Irish player – with
the WSOP concluding in the next few months, who knows how his luck could turn. |
