New Site Launching in October
West African land and online casino gamblers will have some new options when it
comes to sportsbetting in the country thanks to the launch of a new
sportsbetting site. The Ghana Gaming Commission approved a ten-year license to
Pinbridge Ltd to operate a land and online sportsbetting business for the
residents of Ghana. Sportsbetting is a sector of the larger online casino
gambling industry that has really become increasingly popular all over the world
as more individuals have access to the major international sporting events
thanks to the internet and specialized cable coverage of many sports. Pinbridge
and GTech Global Services Corporation have formed a partnership to develop and
launch the new Ghana online sportsbetting site.
GTech is a U.S. based company that has been looking for a way into the
developing African online casino, sportsbetting, and gambling industries. GTech
offers new technology solutions for the land and internet gaming industries as
well as consulting services to the internet gaming industries. As much as the
new partnership is a benefit for Pinbridge, this also marks an import vote of
confidence for GTech and GTech software. The CEO and President at GTech, Jaymin
Patel, commented on the benefits of this new partnership, “Strategically, this
is important for us in that we are expanding beyond traditional lottery-based
offerings by delivering automated, secure wagering solutions for sportsbetting
pool games in Ghana. This also marks the first deployment of our newest central
system technology offering, GTech GO.”
Although the GTech software is designed for the online casino and sportsbetting
industry as well, the backbone of the GTech software comes from the retail
terminals. According to GTech, the integration of the sportsbetting terminals
into retail and other strategic locations will uniquely help developing nations
such as Ghana develop and nurture a strong sportsbetting industry. |
