You Can't Lose Your Money: 1
Creative companies in the United States are increasingly looking for ways to tap
into the lucrative gambling market in the U.S. while staying within the federal
regulations set forth in the UGIEA. The easiest idea is a membership based
gambling site that still offers lucrative prizes while not actually having the
gamblers risk their own funds in any way.
A company from Scottsdale, Arizona announced the new program – and the best part
yet is the fact that the site is set up to benefit several charity organizations
in addition to providing a fun gambling experience that is similar to real-money
online casinos offered outside of the U.S. Another plus for the site is the fact
that, at this point, there has been no valid opposition to the launch of the
online gambling site.
The new site, CharityStakes.com, allows members to pay a set monthly amount and
in trade a portion of the membership dues will go toward charitable
organizations or political causes and another portion of the dues go toward the
sports pools and prizes. The UIGEA is a piece of federal legislation designed to
stop foreign (and hypothetically domestic) online casinos from offering their
services to U.S. players. The Act stops the transactions between financial
institutions and the alleged online casino gambling sites. Charity Stakes though
claims that its format is completely legal and cannot even really be classified
as internet gambling.
The site allows members to pay a set monthly amount of $19.95 which gives them
complete access to the site and to unlimited access to the site’s handful of
online casino games. The key to the equation is the fact that members never have
to pay more than their membership fee to participate in any of the site’s
betting pools or online games – this means that there is no actual risk to the
gamblers and thus not actually classified as internet gambling. |
