Inaugural Euro Bingo Championship

The UK media have really latched onto industry reports that online casino bingo gambling is surging in the UK in just the past year. The surge in UK bingo gambling is uncontested but the recent European Bingo Championship event at Paddy Power is perhaps a better indication of the increasing interest in online bingo gaming. This is the first time that the Euro Bingo Championship was offered through the Paddy Power online casino gambling group, and based off of the success of the event, Paddy Power will likely offer the Championship in the future.

The Bingo Championship appealed to land and online casino bingos alike considering the huge prize pool at the online event. Players were able to win any of a number of awesome prizes: a home makeover, a weekend getaway to Paris, free flights for a year, laptops, flat screens, and a top prize of a Chevrolet Aveo car. The event drew the interest of more than 660 bingo gamblers from the European bingo market, all competing for the stellar top prizes.

The winner of the Bingo Championship, Robert Robinson, counts himself lucky to have even played in the event. Robinson took home the Aveo after a grueling final leg of the online casino bingo competition, and interestingly enough, Robinson wasn’t even planning on entering the event! Robinson notes that the timing of the event was integral to his participation, any sooner and he would have opted to focus on the Euro 2008 Football Championships instead. But considering he is walking (or driving) home the as the winner of the event, Robinson observed, “I'm glad England weren't in Euro 2008 now or I might not have entered and won the car!”
