Expanding a Good Idea
Everest Poker announced last month that the company was the official sponsor of
Germany’s Bar Poker League. But in the true fashion of a popular online casino
gambling site Everest Poker is now planning affiliated events that launch off of
the concept of a land based poker league with ties to the internet poker
gambling industry. The current sponsorship involves the Everest Poker brand as
the only main logo at all of the land poker events that are run through
Germany’s Bar Poker League. The unique partnership though also gives the online
poker company unique access to a prominent segment of the land poker gambling
industry.
Everest Poker has made headlines since the beginning of the year because of the
online casino poker gambling company’s explosive growth in the market. Although
the European market has not yet reached saturation, the market has certainly
reached the point where some of the smaller gambling brands are consolidated
with or acquired by the “big guns” in the industry. Interestingly though,
Everest Poker has succeeded in carving out a unique corner of the European
online casino poker gambling market.
While the partnership with the Bar Poker League will certainly be a lucrative
and beneficial sponsorship deal, the event also serves as a launching point for
the brand into the land poker tournament industry. The CMO for Everest Poker,
Jennifer Joyce, has announced that short term focus for the company is primarily
on giving “each player an exclusive and personalized experience. We are planning
to offer the thrill of live poker to the players by offering them a network of
venues across the country.” And while the immediate benefits will certainly
boost the online poker site’s visibility in the industry, long-term efforts
stemming from the partnership include initial planning on a Pan European
Championship or other major land poker tournament events. |
