Red Letter Day for Online Poker Site
It’s always nice to make the record books, and PokerStars.com has now taken the
top spot in the online casinos poker gambling industry as having the most
simultaneous players. PokerStars is a popular gambling destination for online
poker players all over the world, and the latest announcement about simultaneous
players goes to show that the poker site has successfully maintained a large
player base even after the U.S.’s exit from the online casinos and poker
industries. Scout Poker, an independent site that logs record figures from
online poker sites announced that PokerStars is the first of the poker casinos
to record more than 20,000 real money players on the site at one time.
This is great news for PokerStars which competes with other top online casino
poker sites like Full Tilt Poker. Both Full Tilt and PokerStars were affected by
the U.S. withdrawal form the online casinos poker industry, but both sites have
managed to retain an extremely large player base – and that is no small feat
considering that many sites went under after the Unlawful Internet Gambling
Enforcement Act.
Party Poker is one of the only other online casinos poker sites to even come
close to the 20,000 mark, and that was prior to the UIGEA and the site nearly
reached the 17,000 player mark. Party Poker is no longer even in the running to
compete with Poker Stars, and even Full Tilt has pulled ahead of Party Poker in
the rankings of simultaneous players. Poker Stars managed to make the record
breaking figure of 20,386 players in simultaneous real money ring poker games by
the end of 2007, certainly making 2007 a red letter year for the growing online
poker site. |
