Lack of Technical Details

With the Absolute Poker online casino cheating scandal coming to a close some players in the industry are really looking for a bit more detail on how employees at the company were able to get away with the cheat. The Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC) released details from the investigation report – but there are no specifics on precisely how the employee exploited the software upgrade. The online casinos poker site was not quick to realize that the cheat was in progress, and failed to notice even when the initial complaints began to come in from players.

On the positive side for Absolute Poker, the company did respond to problem quickly (though not within the required 24 hour time period) and report they breach to the KGC. At that point the KGC brought in an independent auditing firm, Gaming Associates. And now that Gaming Associates has turned in their report to the Commission, online casinos players demand a more thorough accounting of what went wrong in the company.

Absolute Poker has worked to regain the trust of the online casinos industry by quickly reimbursing the players affected by the cheat, and complying with every aspect of the Gaming Associates investigation. But that may not be enough for some in the industry. Players want to know how the employee managed to carry out the cheat and what precise safeguards are now in place to prevent that from happening in the future. Though the Commission released a slew of details from the report to the public, it certainly lacked on the technical details that it seems many in the online casino industry are looking to for reassurance.
