Asian Companies Eager to Enter Gaming Market
There is certainly no doubting the fact that major online casinos that
operate in Europe and other countries are looking toward the Asian market for
expansion in the coming years. But interestingly enough, Asian companies view
the American and European markets with as much expectation. Though Asia has yet
to embrace the online casinos gambling industry, the country does offer some
uniquely Asian games that are quickly gaining in popularity in other countries
and cultures.
Many online casinos companies have looked at the popular and traditional Mahjong
game as a great way to enter the Asian market – develop a Mahjong Web site with
a few other approved games, and the companies can begin to gain credibility in
the Asian markets. But it works the other way too. Asian’s aren’t the only
players who like online Mahjong, and an emerging Asian company is looking to
bring Mahjong to the global gaming industry.
World Tour Mahjong, Inc. (WTM) is primarily focused on the Asian gaming
industry, but has recently announced plans to bring Asian Mahjong to English
speaking players as well though a popular and world-wide social networking site,
Facebook. Though it isn’t exactly the online casinos gambling industry, Mahjong
is gaining popularity in New markets, and the founders of WTM are looking at the
benefits to the company by offering services to English speaking players. Pierre
Wuu, one of the co-founders of the company remarked, "With this new launch on
the Facebook Platform we will be the leader in presenting Asian games to a
worldwide global audience. Facebook has a strong presence outside Asia in both
North America and Europe. This is a market which very few Asian gaming companies
have entered. This market will only grow."
