Demonstrations Against Online Casinos
The launch of an online casinos gambling site from the Emaja Internet Gaming
Enterprise could be postponed due to continued protest from locals who object to
an internet gambling company operating out of Angeles City. The owner of the
imminent online casinos gambling site, Emmanuel Jacinto is certainly less than
thrilled out the staged demonstrations and protests outside his company.
Jacinto claims that he has obtained all of the appropriate permits and licenses
and chose a location that did not violate any laws about proximity to schools
and churches. But those assertions are negated by the Angeles City Mayor,
Francis Mepomuceno, who also spoke against the online casinos office location.
The Mayor asserted that Jacinto’s business is actually still lacking appropriate
permits.
Then in addition to the permit issue, others opposed to the prospect of an
online casinos company in Angeles City claim that the office is actually in
violation of proximity to schools and churches. At the time that Jacinto’s
office was approved by the city government the official that cleared Jacinto now
claims he was unaware that Jacinto planned to operate an online casinos site out
of the location.
Jacinto though isn’t buying it – he claims that he went through all of the
legitimate steps to clear his online casinos company for operation out of
Angeles city both at a city and state level. Not only did the Angeles City
government approve the online gambling company’s office location, but the
company has permission to operate from PAGCOR – an authority on betting and
gambling activities in the Philippines. |
