Political Position on Online Casinos: Huckabee

Voters across the United States are asked some weighty questions and are forced to look at the pros and cons for each presidential candidate for nomination – the President after all shapes U.S. policy for the next four to eight years. Of the three Republican candidates it seems that Huckabee is the most willing to flat out speak against the online casinos gambling industry. Part of his blatant anti-gambling attitude could come from the is political platform which is based around much more evangelical values. And though he specifically commented that he would veto legislation to legalize and regulate online casinos gambling, the Poker Players Alliance also noted that politicians are not known for keeping a firm position on controversial topics as the tide of public opinion shifts in a certain direction. Evidence for this is all of the “flip-flopping” allegations during Kerry’s run for the presidency.

The PPA is of the stance that though Huckabee is against legalizing online casinos, in the end he could be shifted into supporting the internet poker industry.
