Betfair is looking to create an internet and land poker team that will dominant the global internet poker industry – and with the signing of a new poker player, Betfair is one step closer. Team Betfair has grown in size as the company searches for the best new and established names in the land and online poker gambling industry; young poker sensation Sorel Mizzi is tops on the list of online casino poker players in the world, and now Team Betfair has him. Mizzi, 21, started in the internet poker industry and has only in the last few months begun to compete in land poker tourneys. Mizzi’s addition to the team is certainly a significant accomplishment for Betfair.

Team Betfair also includes top land poker player Annette Obrestad – she won the European World Series of Poker this past year and is recognized as a force to contend with on the international poker circuit. Obrestad and Mizzi represent two of the arguably top talents in their respective sectors of the poker gambling industry – both the land and online casino poker sectors of the global poker industry.

The young Sorel Mizzi is an international sensation since he came onto the online casino poker scene a few years ago. Mizzi is based out of Canada and has been named the online poker player in the world (or a variation of that title) by several industry sites. A spokesperson for Betfair remarked that with Mizzi adding to the highly talented existing Team Betfair, the company now has a team that will be “the dominant force in poker for the next decade."

Mizzi proved himself in land poker tournament play by taking home a third place finish in the Irish Poker Open. The Irish Open was Mizzi’s first venture into land competitions (having previously dominated the online poker industry), and he proved that he could hold up well in the international land poker gambling arena.
