Anticipated Asian-Pacific Growth
Industry analysts predict that the Asian-Pacific region is the next major hub
for the internet gambling industry. With the U.S. out of the industry for the
foreseeable future, and Europe is rapidly reaching a plateau in growth over the
next decade, the future of the online casinos industry may just rest in Asian
gamblers. At this point, the Asian-Pacific region is specifically accepting a
growth in land and internet poker gambling – European companies are now forming
strategic Asian partnerships in the hopes of establishing a realm of brand
recognition and brand identity even before online casino gambling is legal in
the region.
Chris Parker, the CEO at Asian Logic (a prominent Asian facing land and online
casinos gambling company with ties to Playtech) commented on the regional
growth. He notes, “Poker continues to grow across the region at a very fast
rate.” Asian Logic is specifically developing the poker gambling industry in
Asia due to the fact that many Asian nations do not allow online casinos style
gambling at this point.
Parker quoted statistics from the Global Betting and Gaming Consultants that
“predict that the Asian poker market will grow at a compound annual growth rate
of 23 percent for the next four years compared to a total global poker growth
rate of 7.6 percent.” Parker notes that Asian Logic “believes that forecast to
be conservative.”
With new concessions in Macau and China, the land and online casinos gambling
industry will certainly expand – but the specific growth of the industry remains
to be seen. |
