A Stronger Licensing Jurisdiction
New developments within the Isle of Man licensing jurisdiction are designed to
make the jurisdiction even stronger than it has been previously. The Isle of Man
is extremely well regarded throughout the international online casino gambling
industry – the jurisdiction has very strong standards, regulations and
restrictions. The latest news out of the Isle of Man concerns the Gambling
Supervision Bill 2008. This bill is designed to address the powers of the
country’s Gambling Supervision Commission – basically expanding the powers in
some regards while upholding all of the previous supervisory capacities.
The online casino gambling industry is expected to see some huge surges in the
coming years if all of the predictions are accurate. As the industry grows, the
licensing jurisdictions are an integral part of ensuring that the online casinos
operate honestly and under the minimum internationally recognized regulations.
According to the new bill launched by the Treasury Department, the Commission
will have the significant additional authority to provide regulations and the
framework for new oversight in the online casino gambling licensing industry.
The Gambling Supervision Commission within the Isle of Man has a several duties
while the Treasury also has a set of duties relevant to the online casino
gambling industry that differ. Just last month the Isle of Man announced that it
had approved NYX as an online gambling company licensed and fully operating
certain parts of the company’s financial services out of the Isle of Man. The
new bill and planned legislation is designed to continue fostering and building
these types of partnerships. |
