Replacement Finally Found
The Betfair online casino gambling group has been searching high and low since
this past spring for a replacement for the company’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
The position of CTO is extremely important in internet gambling companies and
Betfair’s exhaustive search for a new CTO has ended successfully with the
announcement that Tony McAlister will replace the former CTO at Betfair, Rory
Devine. McAlister has extensive experience in the IT industry and as CTO of
other prominent companies but the Betfair appointment will be McAlister’s first
real step into the online casino gambling and sportsbetting industry.
McAlister’s career in the IT industry has been pretty high profile over the past
decade and the Betfair appointment is certainly a huge stepping stone for
McAlister into the fast-growing and fast-paced world of online casinos,
sportsbetting sites, and more. As former CTOs at Vodafone and Motricity,
McAlister has already showed that he is more than capable at leading a company
into new frontiers in online technology – and that is the key to his success at
Betfair.
As the CTO of Betfair, McAlister is responsible for not only leading the
company’s IT team, but to also lead Betfair into the next era of online casinos
and sportsbetting sites – to ensure that Betfair’s rapid growth in the industry
is coupled with solid technological strategies. He will take over in an official
capacity as of January 19, 2009 and Rory Devine, who has continued to work for
Betfair throughout the search for a new CTO, will officially step down from the
CTO position. |
