Possible New Land Casino Market

There is no doubt that land and online casinos are profitable – they just are no matter how you look at the situation. Interestingly enough, there are a surprising number of politicians supporting this plan. The Finance Minister is spearheading the efforts but he has some high powered support – the Prime Minister, Bruce Golding is also in support of licensing and regulating online casinos as a way to boost tourism.

There is really very little other information available on the situation right now, but the decision is being left to Jamaica’s cabinet right now. If the cabinet approves the idea the land casinos would then be licensed under some very specific restrictions. The government would look at the company’s business model and also the track record within the industry. Companies like Harrah’s and other major international brands are a shoo-in if they take an interest in the land casino market in Jamaica.
