French Action from the Online Casinos
The French internet gambling market is in the process of opening – but it’s a
slow process and not all of the foreign online casinos are willing to wait until
the new regulations come into effect. According to the French government, the
new regulations could take as long as early 2010 before they come into effect.
In the mean time, companies like the Partouche Group are facing heavy fines and
other penalties for their continued involvement in the French land and online
casino gambling and betting market. Considering the slow progress that the
French government is making on the new gambling regulations, Partouche is
determined to begin offering forms of online gambling in France through a
Gibraltar gambling license.
And while the news that the France-based Partouche is looking to become a bit of
a rebel in the market, several other online casinos and internet gambling sites
already offer internet gambling within the French market despite the ongoing
French legislative and regulatory restrictions. Partouche though is operated out
of France and the French government has taken that opportunity to punish the
company for operating as a French gambling company in spite of the government
monopoly.
The French gambling market is extremely difficult during this transition phase
into the online casino gambling industry and the lengthy process toward
liberalization of the internet gambling market is very frustrating for companies
like the Partouche Group. For that reason, French online poker gamblers can look
forward to a new option operating in the market in the coming months. |
