Tokwiro Claims Bias

Tokwiro Enterprise’s public relations department has likely been scratching their head over the past year and a half – how do you spin an even like the past two online casino poker gambling cheating scandals into a favorable light for the company…the answer is that you don’t and the company didn’t. Tokwiro has done a lousy job over the past year with dispensing information to the public concerning the two cheating scandals even though the gamblers were demanding information. Now though, on the eve of the launch of the 60 Minutes program, Tokwiro has briefed all of the company employees about the program and claimed that much of the program will likely be skewed – hmm, as if the information from Tokwiro over the past year has been a bit unbalanced?

Still though, there is a bit of truth to Tokwiro’s claims, by all appearances it seems as though the 60 Minutes program is out to target the online casino gambling industry. Internet gambling, either poker or at the online casinos, is a highly controversial subject right now and the 60 Minutes program will likely take a side in the debate – and most likely anti-internet gambling in the US. The COO at Tokwiro, Paul Leggett, sent a memo to all of the company’s employees concerning the 60 Minutes program – his memo noted that is was likely that “the 60 Minutes producers are intent on portraying the online poker industry and our companies in a negative light, and [the company does] not expect that the program will be either fair or balanced."

In all, the memo concluded by noting that because it was likely that all of the information would be anti-online casinos and internet poker, Tokwiro made the conscious choice to deny an on-camera interview with the program. And in the event that the company now receives additional attention from the US and international media, Leggett outlined a set of facts and information about the cheating scandals that every employee at Tokwiro is expected to know and use in response to the many questions that are sure to flood the company in the coming weeks.
