Pushing for Online Casino Gambling Support
The Republican Party Platform Committee is beginning to get bombarded by
messages from the online casino and poker gambling supporters who are urging the
Republican Party to make the internet gambling issue a major part of their
platform. Both presidential candidates have given only vague information and
details on their position related to legalizing online casinos and internet
poker in the United States. The Poker Players Alliance is one of the most
prominent pressure groups in the U.S. with the internet gambling issue at the
forefront of their concerns.
The latest message from the PPA to its more than one million members was to post
messages on the Republican Party Platform Committee forum and voice their
support for legislation that would regulating and license the U.S. online
casinos industry. Already its seems as though the PPA’s members are responding
to that push and are flocking to the forums and putting the online casino
gambling issue at the forefront of their concerns. With enough support of the
internet gambling issue the presidential candidates just may be forced to
publically address their position on the issue.
The media has picked up on the PPA’s latest initiative as well and are running
with the idea. The online casino gambling issue has the power to sway some
voters who were appalled by the invasive and flawed UIGEA which was pushed
through by the Bush Administration and is held in place primarily by
Republicans. The PPA is looking to use the election as a springboard for
increased debate and awareness about the online gambling situation. |
