Prompting Answers and Accountability
Last week’s article about the Absolute Poker cheating scandal has prompted
threats of legal action from Absolute Poker’s parent company Tokwiro
Enterprises. The problem is, the intense negative response from Tokwiro has led
many online casino poker players to wonder why the company is merely threatening
legal action rather than addressing some of the supposedly “false” claims that
Gambling 911 made within the article in question. Gambling 911’s article linked
two names to last year’s online casino poker cheating scandals that rocked the
industry. Tokwiro has never to-date released specific information on the
perpetrators of the cheating scandal – that left the investigative journalists
and poker gamblers to find out the facts.
The two names linked to the Absolute Poker scandal are linked primarily because
of their departure from the company around the time that the scandal occurred.
Couple that with the fact that Allan Grimard, a former employee of AB, is now
jet-setting in Costa Rica, and some online caisno gamblers are justifiably upset
that Tokwiro is remaining tight-lipped on the issue.
In light of the lawsuit in particular, many of the gamblers at the online
casinos and gambling sites are concerned. And threats aside, Gambling 911 claims
that the article merely points to some of the cold hard facts that the company
uncovered and there is nothing illegal about reporting the facts. The portal
defends the article in question and elaborates on the issue. "Grimard is alleged
to have been involved in a massive "insider cheating scandal" at Absolute Poker.
He has apparently used that money to purchase a brand new yacht, SUV and is in
the process of building a mansion along with Absolute co-founder Scott Tom.
Grimard and Tom were both observed laughing about the Absolute Poker scandal.”
Both individuals have been seen throughout Costa Rica with little concern for
what is happening elsewhere. |
