Hitting the Big Screen
Poker gambling has been around for ages but the fascination has far from worn
off – in fact the pastime only continues to grow in popularity all over the
world. Whether at the online casinos or the land gambling venues, casual poker
players have embraced the game and poker professionals can make millions in
winnings if they play their cards right. The game is making yet another
appearance on the big screen according to entertainment industry news. Gill
Cates Jr. is back for a second shot at bringing land and online casino poker to
the masses through the power of movie making.
The new film is entitled “Pass the Sugar” and will hopefully make more of a
splash than the directors previous film, “Deal,” which was met with criticism
and poor reviews. Online casino poker gambling has brought the activity to a
much larger audience and has boosted the popularity of the pastime because poker
gamblers are able to practice and play from their own home. The World Series of
Poker has also brought land and online casino poker to a broader audience – the
WSOP is the largest poker tournament event in the world and draws in interest on
a global scale. In that vain then, Cates Jr’s latest film dissects and analyzes
the events of the 2005 WSOP event.
“Pass the Sugar” will include some pretty big names in both the poker and
entertainment industry and may include documentary style comments on the final
table event of the 2005 WSOP poker event from actors like Jose Canseco and
Jennifer Tilly. “Pass the Sugar” follows the nine individuals of the final
table, and particularly the winner of the 2005 WSOP, Joe Hachem. |
