Who is to Blame? - 3
The poker forums are alive with speculation as to what the next steps should be
in resolving this case. With the Kahnawake Commission dismissing further
complaints and questions regarding the online casino poker cheating debacle,
many gamblers are left in the lurch with unanswered questions and few places to
turn to. Some of the recent announcements from Tokwiro and the Commission seem
to passive aggressively dismiss the concerns of the online casino poker gamblers
and instead seek to focus the media attention on issues other than the two major
cheating scandals of the past year.
Online casinos already have a hard time operating with profit in the current
online casino gambling market-place (the economic recession in the U.S. and the
slowing UK economy have taken a toll on the internet gambling industry) and the
bad publicity over the past year has hurt both Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker
as the two online casinos attempt to distance themselves from the scandals and
may even merge together into one company and a new name, Cereus. This
announcement can only been seen as an attempt by Tokwiro to rebrand the
companies and separate the continued negativity surrounding AP and UB from the
newly launching merged company.
Additionally, the Commission has announced one final investigation into the two
online casino poker cheating scandals by the former New Jersey Division of
Gaming Enforcement Director, Frank Catania – even this move though has angered
internet gamblers because Catania has strong ties to the top officials in the
Commission and may produce biased information. |
