3D Online Casino Technology a Hard Sell
There is scarcely a country or an online casino company in the world that didn’t
feel the chilling effect of the United States’ Unlawful Internet Gambling
Enforcement Act over the past year. By ending offshore gambling financial
transactions, some companies were forced to fold, others are still struggling to
break into new markets. And because the online casino industry is in such a
state of flux, companies that offer alternative technology like Playwize, are
having difficulty convincing the internet gambling companies that the technology
is worth the investment. Playwize offers 3D gaming technology that is
specifically tailored to online casinos gambling.
Playwize is an online poker software provider best known for its licensable
Internet 3D poker technology. And prior to the U.S.’s online casino ban,
Playwize, known as Bits Corporation, had few problems finding funds for
developing and marketing the 3D technology. But the U.S. ban made many online
casinos and internet poker companies less receptive to purchasing new licenses,
particularly in such a new sector of the industry. 3D capable computer monitors
are far from a standard in the homes of internet gamblers, so many internet
poker companies don’t see the validity in trying to break into this emerging
sector of the industry at this point in time.
And because of the online casino has been in such a transitional period,
Playwize will once again report significant full-year pre-tax losses – the
company anticipates GBP 1.96 million. But this does not mean that 3D technology
is completely out. As many companies recover, or are recovered, from the
devastating effect of the U.S. online casino ban, they are begging to become
more receptive to riskier business ventures. Plawize announced last week that it
has signed agreements with Ladbrokes to develop and supply the company with 3D
internet poker technology and software.
