Online Casino Goes Green
The global community has become increasingly aware about global warming and the
need for more sustainable and environmentally friendly business practices – and
it seems that Casino Del Rio is the first of the online casinos to “go green.”
More and more companies are choosing to consult with non-profit organizations as
a way to support the move toward environmentally aware and pro-active policies.
In the past, the online casino gambling industry is not particularly known for
actively supporting green business practices, but Casino Del Rio’s latest move
is definitely a step in the right direction.
The New Green Group (NGG) is a non-profit organization that specifically works
with businesses on action-plans for becoming part of a sustainable solution to
global environmental issues. The group offers alternative business policies and
practices – both large and small scale, that integrate into a company (and in
this case an online casino company) and work with the current business
structure. NGG partnered with the online casinos parent company, Euro Partners,
on this latest venture into creating more green business practices.
And through the partnership, the online casino will now offer green policies
that no other internet gambling site out there offers – internet gamblers ¬can
benefit the environment just by signing up on the site. The VP of Marketing at
Euro Partners, David Alexander, comments on the online casinos new tree planting
policy and other new features added to the company’s operation facility. He
notes, "In addition to planting one tree for each player, we've remodeled our
facilities to include design features that help monitor energy-wastage and an
extensive recycling program."
Casino Del Rio is fast on its way to becoming a usable business model for other
online casinos interested in incorporating green solutions. Alexander elaborated
on other new green programs implemented at the online casino and the company’s
end goal; “As part of the pledge to balance our CO2 emission, we've introduced a
variety of eco-friendly provisions into Casino Del Rio's operations that move us
closer towards our goal of reaching a 100 percent carbon-neutral status.”
