Advocating Regulations
With constantly expanding online casino and internet poker markets, internet
gambling sites can use every advantage possible to stay ahead on the frontline
of player demands. And for the Canbet.com poker site, using the Microgaming
platform has provided the company with the edge that it needs to not only keep a
foothold in existing markets but to expand into the emerging Asian markets as
well. Just last week, Canbet and Microgaming announced that Canbet.com had
chosen to upgrade the company’s online casinos software to the Microgaming
platform as well. Canbet asserted that the ease and success of the Microgaming
poker platform convinced the company to use Microgaming software at the online
gambling sites as well.
Microgaming is a leading online casino software provider and has licensing deals
only rivaled by Cryptologic. From the Osbournes game to Hitman, Microgaming
licensees have access to the most successful online casinos titles in the
industry. Canbet originally only had plans to use Microgaming software for its
internet poker site, but the company was “very impressed with the platform and
team at Microgaming since [the company] switched to join the Microgaming Poker
Network,” remarks Canbet Managing Director Mark Read. In that same sentiment, he
notes that “there was little debate [at Canbet] as to who would partner with us
for online casino software.”
Canbet is an emerging online casino company with a base in Australia where the
company holds one of the few bookmaking licenses, but with a target market of
Canada and Europe for the company’s poker and internet gambling sites. Read
anticipates that the switch to the Microgaming platform will “drive growth in
markets right across Europe.”
