Can the Online Casino Take Money Back?
NETeller is under debate again now that a player has contested a chargeback
transaction that NETeller allowed from an online casino. NETeller is an online
payment processing company that is primarily used by online casinos players. One
NETeller account holder was shocked that the company allowed PrimeCasino.com to
take money out of the player’s account even though it was there for two weeks,
and more importantly, neither the casino nor NETeller informed the player prior
to withdrawing the fudns.
The online casino player was surprised that both companies seemed blasé about
the transaction, and the PrimeCasion.com’s manager, Joshua Cartu, even went so
far as to assure the player that chargebacks were common in the industry. But it
might not be as common as Cartu let on because the online casinos forums and
message boards lit up with talk and discussion about what had happened.
Particularly of distress to the online casino player is part of NETeller’s terms
of use implies that this sort of activity can not happen. According to the terms
of use, section 10.5: “You acknowledge and agree that all electronic money
purchases, transfers or withdrawals into or out of your Account are final and
not reversible. NETELLER cannot arrange for your Account to be refunded where
you believe the purchase, transfer or withdrawal was made in error.”
Thankfully, the online casino sorted out the situation to the satisfaction of
the player affected, and has even gone so far as to alter the Web site so that
players are notified with a click-thru message any time the online casino site
changes the Terms and Conditions.
