Singapore is CryptoLogic's Next Target Market
Now that CryptoLogic has a new CEO, it is no secret that the company has firm
plans to move into the Asian market, in fact, Javaid Aziz, the company’s new CEO
announced the new direction as soon as he entered office. But since his
appointment, the company has spent time looking into the logistics of expanding
online casino gambling in Asia, where to start and how to expand. Well, now the
company has announced that Singapore will be the company’s first target toward
this Asian expansion, and that once they have a successful model built in
Singapore, that could be the necessary stepping stone for moving into other
areas of Asia.
Though there are some obvious obstacles that the company will have to tackle
such as differing cultural preferences, skill based online casino communities,
and internet connection speeds, the company has already begun to address those
issues and has firm plans to move into the Singapore marget.
Part of why CryptoLogic chose Singapore first has to do with the country’s
developed land-based casino gambling industry. The company has a history of
developing unique integrated platforms designed to meet the specific needs and
regulations of the country. Previously, CryptoLogic has developed an online
casino gambling industry in Holland, and he expressed interest in creating a
globally synergized company.
And not one to waste time, Aziz interviewed with Singapore’s Business Time’s
newspaper where he announced that they have already hired Shailesh Naik to begin
staffing and operating a Singapore office. Though the office will be nowhere
close in size to the company’s other global offices, it is an initial stepping
stone into the Singapore market.
