In Game Poker Advertisements
Advertising to coveted demographics like the 18-35 year olds is increasingly
difficult now that that demographic is very technologically savvy, and at the
same time wary of many advertising claims. For that reason, advertising agencies
are constantly coming up with innovative new ideas to push advertisements on
that target. For that reason, the online casino gambling industry is the current
target. Many land-based casinos already allow advertisement space on the table
felt of the poker tables, and ad agencies are taking that concept to the online
casinos.
The PKR online casino gambling site is one of the first in the industry to begin
this new form of internet advertising. The poker site signed an agreement with
IGA Worldwide that will give the ad agency exclusive access to the sites coveted
male 18-35 demographic.
Specifics on the agreement focus on the free-play poker players. To this end,
IGA and PKR have set a goal of 60,000 player exposures at these free-play poker
rooms. The online casino has not allowed IGA access to any of the real-money
games or tournaments as a part of the deal.
IGA is not the only company to go in this direction for hitting the online
casino industry. According to IGA’s CEO, Justin Townsend, “In today's fragmented
media environment we're seeing advertisers increasingly turning to in-game
advertising as traditional formats fail to deliver.”
The company will focus male-based products that research show appeals to the
18-35 online casino gaming demographic such as electronic gadgets, grooming
products, and other items/companies. |
