French Version Launches
Many Web sites that have established themselves in the online casino industry in
the Unites States are now reinventing their Web sites so that they can
specifically shift more effectively into the European market. Jeu De Casino En
Ligne is an example of how online casinos shifted elements of the site in order
better establish a player base in Europe. The site has now launched a version of
the site in French so that French players no longer have to navigate an
all-English site.
Jeu De Casino En Ligne did not take the translation process lightly though. The
company announce that though it had initially planned to use translation
software to translate the existing content into French, the online casinos
company chose to use human translators. The Director at Jeu De Casino En Ligne,
George MacDonald cited the difficulties that translation software has with
concept based translation versus literal translation.
The shift in content language was specifically to entice French gamblers because
the online casino no longer accepts U.S. player monies. They left the U.S market
for the same reasons other online casinos cite: the U.S.’s ban simply makes the
logistics of processing U.S. transactions too difficult and risky.
