Year-End Statistics are in for E-Wallet: 2006
The industry has waited for the 2006 financial statistical results for months
and now that Neteller is nearing the end of the U.S. federal investigation and
litigation regarding online casinos transactions, the company was able to regain
trading status on AIM and release 2006 revenue statistics. Included in the
report were the dismal first quarter results for 2007 – but on the bright side,
2006 was incredibly lucrative for Neteller and the statistics prove that before
the run-in with U.S. officials for criminal activities related to online casino
transactions, the company was on the rise.
For 2006, Neteller reported gain in every business sector of the company,
particularly toward the end of the year when Neteller was essentially the only
e-wallet enabling U.S. gamblers access to online casino sites. But across the
board Neteller saw increases in revenue. Not only did year-end number show a 50
percent increase in revenue, the number of online casinos players using the
e-wallet also showed a 50 percent increase throughout 2006.
Then add to that a 29 percent surge in total active customers and it is no
surprise that 2006 was such a red-letter year for Neteller. Neteller boasted
over 489,535 active U.S. online casino customers – the most significant
percentage of their total player base by a huge percentage. Other active player
bases included 59,335 from Canada, 71,421 in Europe and 20,410 active players
comprised of Asia and all other countries with a Neteller presence.
