What's Going on with Golden Palace?
The Golden Palace online casino and internet gambling site is well known in the
industry for reliability and a great variety of games and affiliated sites. But
without warning now, the online casinos announced several new actions that will
affect a large portion of the site’s registered player base. Not long after the
casino announced plans to end real-money playing in Canada, a partnered Web site
announced plans to close down. Get21.com is an online multiplayer blackjack
tournament site that really hasn’t been doing too poorly with player
registration and play.
Get21.com is based out of the Isle of Man, and last October the site began
offering the specialized online casino blackjack tournaments. And though players
at Get21 still have other options for the multiplayer tournaments (one of
Get21’s partners will begin hosting the popular tournaments), this latest
announcement begs the question, why is the site leaving?
The software that was used on the Get21 Web site was an innovative development
from RNG Gaming. Development took the better part of two years and once the
software was launched on the Get21.com online casino gaming site, players have
responded well.
But for some reason the success of the software hasn’t proven enough for the
Get21 site to remain up and running. Get21 sent a notice to all of the online
casinos players that the multiplayer Blackjack Tournaments at the site will
cease all operations in just two weeks. Additionally, all player accounts must
be zeroed out by that time as the site will not be sending reimbursement checks
for accounts with remaining balances past July 15, 2007.
Just as with Golden Palace online casinos announcement about the termination of
Canadian operations, no reason was given for the decision.
