What's Happening at FunTech?
FunTech is a skill gaming group that operates from Toronto and London. And
though the company had an all-star line-up of top executives, they also just
announced that the company has four executive management changes. The online
casino gambling industry is currently changing drastically on a global scale,
and skill gaming is also increasing in popularity. But given all of that, four
of the Directors at Funtech announced that they were parting ways with the
company, and would be replaced with new executives equally qualified in the
online casinos and skill gaming industries.
Perhaps the most startling change at FunTech is the departure of Andrew Rivkin.
Rivkin has a long-standing history of successful companies involved in the
online casino industry, and he is also a co-founder of FunTech. The other
co-founder, Lorne Abony, has not announced plans to leave the company those so
many others are. Rivkin’s other industry related companies includes the
prestigious CryptoLogic. Rivkin is one of the original founders at CryptoLogic
which provides top-quality online casino games and platforms.
FunTech has founded in 2002, and this year’s large management changes in the
most significant change to-date in the company’s upper level management. Part of
FunTech’s success can be attributed to Liberty Media, which has a controlling
interest in FunTech, and now that four executives are leaving, Liberty will have
another party on the executive board representing Liberty’s interests.
A rundown on the management changes: Leaving the company are Mark Carleton,
Harvey Solursh, and John Albright, in addition to Rivkin already mentioned. All
partied leaving FunTech have agreed that the spilt is amiable and for no dire
reasons. To replace the four executives moving on to other ventures in the
online casinos industry and beyond are J. David Wargo, William Brock, and David
Hill (the representative for Liberty Media).
