Internet Betting Revenues Up in Australia
There is no doubt that for many companies, rather than online casino slot
machines, poker and other internet casino games, internet betting is fast
becoming the bread and butter in terms of easy and high revenue. Though online
casino betting is fairly new in the marketplace (in some countries online
betting has just in the past few months been legalized) many companies that
operate internet betting sites have reported drastic increases in revenue from
this sector as more and more players discover the ease of online casinos
betting.
Specifically, the sportsbetting group Tabcorp, based out of Australia, has
reported significant increases in online casino betting revenues in the past
fiscal year. Robert Nason, the Managing Director at Tabcorp betting group
commented that the sportsbetting revenue is up nearly 24 percent just last year.
Additionally, the company is expecting that the sportsbetting industry will
follow the trends in the online casinos industry and continuing growing
exponentially.
Tabcorp services both the sports betting markets and the online horserace and
greyhound betting as well. Additionally, outside of the online casino betting
services, bettors can also bet through Tabcorps land-based venues such as pubs,
clubs, agencies and more. Include bettors from the online casino and land-based
betting markets, Tabcorp boasts 400,000 registered player accounts.
Nason postulates that part of the reason that the online casinos and internet
betting industries are so popular is due to players “[embracing] the speed and
convenience of online betting.” Nason continues to stress that the online casino
betting sector of the company “continues to be [the company’s] fastest growing
distribution channel.”
Additionally, Nason adds for future potential Tabcorp bettors that the company
is focusing on “[enhancing its] online wagering presence” as a way to allow
bettors access to all the content they need to place bets and deliver better
functionality, speed and quality of information.”
