The Growing Mobile Market
Like the online casinos industry, the mobile gambling industry seemed have
developed almost overnight. As mobile technology advanced, online casinos were
right there ready to develop content that allows users to gamble anywhere at
anytime. For players who were amazed that online casino gambling allowed them
the ability to gamble from home, they can now gamble anywhere they have their
mobile devices. Humans are more connected to the internet right now than they
have ever been before, they are plugged in via laptops, PDA’s, cell phones, and
more. For those reasons, the demand for mobile gambling content has increased
significantly in the past several years – and as mobile gambling technology
advanced, that specific sector of the industry has seen an enormous surge in
just the past year.
Even while some countries are banning online casinos gambling, other countries
and companies are enabling players to be connected to the gambling world each
moment of everyday. The CEO of online casino gambling company Cashcade, Simon
Collins, remarks on the nature of the mobile gambling industry and justifies why
his internet gambling company just joined the mobile gaming sector. He comments,
“Players no longer have to be at home, in front of their computer. The ubiquity
of mobile and the convenience of the phone in the user's pocket or purse makes
it a unique way for players to interact, no matter where they are. With
consumers working longer hours and commuting long distances, the attraction of
having their favourite online services at their fingertips is hard to beat.”
There is certainly irrefutable truth in that statement, as evidenced by the
rapidly growing UK mobile gambling industry. Spain was one of the first
countries to allow mobile online casino gambling. And from that point, the
majority of the European Union has embraced mobile gaming. The CEO at Cometa
Wireless, Rob Anderson, a mobile gaming provider notes, “The mobile market is
rapidly becoming a vital channel for online gambling providers.”
The only real drawback exists in the fact that mobile online casinos technology
is still in its infancy stages, so player feedback still plays a key part in
shaping the future of this emerging market.
